2.Silk Island Cycling Adventure & lunch with locals

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 246 reviews · from $45

Leave Phnom Penh by shared tuk-tuk or minivan, cross the Mekong by ferry, and ride roughly 22 to 25 kilometers through Silk Island’s farms and villages. Your English-speaking guide, such as Sey, Nuth, or Mon, leads you to silk looms, temples, local food stops, and a floating restaurant lunch.

“This tour was a great experience. Our wonderful guide led us through several small villages and farms outside of Phnom Penh. A visit to a local silk farm was informative. We were able to see silk worm farming process to final woven products. A delicious authentic lunch was provided on a floating restaurant on the Mekong river. Only wish was that there were more opportunities to stop for some photo opportunities. This tour was roughly 25km (16 miles) along flat but sometimes rough terrain. Some biking experience and fitness level is required.”

“The tour gives a very nice insight into life on the small island. The tour is completed by the ferry crossing and the return journey on a private ship. I was particularly impressed by the visit to the small silk production. However, one suspects how life will change here if the bridge is built at some point.”
