“We spent the day exploring Battambang and learning not just about the city itself, but about Cambodia’s history and culture as a whole. We visited so many incredible places, including the Killing Caves, the bamboo train, the suspension bridge, and ended the day watching the bats fly out at sunset — which was absolutely amazing and something we’ll never forget. Our tour guide Samol was fantastic. He has so much knowledge and was incredibly passionate about teaching us about his country, its history, and its people. “Kim was wonderful, he even kindly came to pick us up from the bus station instead of the hotel because our bus from Siem Reap to Battambang arrived late and it was almost 30 minutes past the beginning time for the tour. The bamboo train ($5 pp) was fun and seeing how they have to deconstruct the rigs to let each other pass in different directions in the train track was so interesting. The killing caves were very somber and Kim devoted some time to educate us about the history of the country. Finally, the bats coming out of the cave is quite espectacular and Kim knew the right places…”
